Job Description

About the Position:

In this role, you will be responsible for originating, underwriting, and managing a portfolio of commercial loans. You will work closely with business clients to understand their financial needs and provide tailored lending solutions that align with the bank's policies and risk parameters.

As a key player in our commercial lending division, you'll have the opportunity to drive business growth, develop long-lasting client relationships, and contribute to the overall success of the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

Loan Origination & Underwriting : Source and originate new business loan opportunities, including term loans, lines of credit, and SBA loans. Conduct thorough credit analysis and underwriting for new and existing commercial loans.
Client Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong relationships with business clients, offering personalized financial solutions. Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate their borrowing needs.
Risk Assessment : Evaluate loan applications, review financial statements, and assess risk levels to ensure the bank's lending guidelines and regulatory standards are met.
Portfolio Management : Monitor an existing portfolio of loans, ensuring proper servicing and timely repayment. Address any issues that may arise and work to resolve them effectively.
Business Development : Actively pursue new business opportunities through networking, local business engagement, and collaboration with internal teams, including branch managers and relationship bankers.
Cross-Department Collaboration : Work with internal departments such as credit, legal, and operations to ensure smooth loan processing and compliance with bank policies.
Market Knowledge : Stay informed about the local market, economic trends, and competitive landscape to offer valuable insights to clients and adjust lending strategies accordingly.

Qualifications:

Education : Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field. (Master's degree or professional certification is a plus.)
Experience : Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending, business banking, or related financial services. Experience with SBA lending is highly preferred.
Skills :

Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, underwriting processes, and credit analysis.
Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
Ability to assess financial documents, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow projections.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with loan origination software.

Certifications : Certified Commercial Loan Officer (CCLO) or similar certifications are a plus but not required.
