Job Description
MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Construction Refrigeration Foreman – Commercial & Industrial to lead refrigeration construction and installation projects within commercial and industrial facilities. This leadership role is responsible for supervising installation crews, coordinating daily project activities, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial refrigeration construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple trades while serving as the primary technical resource on assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead technical resource for assigned commercial and industrial refrigeration construction projects.
- Lead, train, mentor, and supervise apprentices, journeyman technicians, and installation crews.
- Prioritize and delegate daily work assignments to maximize productivity and project efficiency.
- Track project schedules and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
- Monitor project performance and provide regular progress updates to management.
- Manage labor hours and assist with controlling overall project costs.
- Identify project changes and communicate the need for change orders when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Ensure all personnel follow OSHA regulations, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and safe vehicle operation.
- Maintain compliance with company procedures regarding project tracking, scheduling, documentation, timekeeping, and reporting.
- Oversee third-party contractors and subcontractors as assigned.
- Ensure installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and customer expectations.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, material coordination, and workforce allocation.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, labor tracking, and daily reporting.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a trade school or technical training program preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial refrigeration construction, mechanical construction, commercial building construction, or a related skilled trade.
- Previous experience leading installation crews or serving in a foreman or supervisory role preferred.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel), email, and project management software.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- Experience managing commercial refrigeration construction projects from startup through completion.
- Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and construction trades.
- Familiarity with project scheduling software and construction management systems.
- Knowledge of refrigeration piping, mechanical systems, and commercial construction best practices.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in commercial construction and industrial environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).
