WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Optiv Energy Inc. is seeking motivated, positive, organized and technical Field Service Technicians with direct BESS and Solar experience to join our team. As a Field Service Technician in the Renewable Energy industry, you will play a pivotal role managing various scopes of work on renewable energy power plants during construction and operations. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the growth of our fast-growing company, while making a positive impact on the environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Travel to client sites to oversee, install, and/or repair utility scale battery energy storage and solar systems
- Cold / Hot Commissioning
- Routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Tasks include:
  • battery charge / discharge cycling
  • module swaps
  • firmware updates
  • energization / de energization
  • LOTO
  • troubleshooting issues by interpreting schematics, blueprints and wiring diagrams to bring units back online
  • retrofit campaigns 
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical support and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Train on the proper use and maintenance of equipment
- Document all service activities, including repairs, replacements, and upgrades, using our internal systems.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements to enhance your expertise and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a zero-incident workplace

REQUIREMENTS:

- Technical Degree or equivalent field experience 
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or a similar role.
- A positive and team focused mindset
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and/or energy systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet and make sound decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to travel extensively to client sites
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and weekends, based on project needs.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
