Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision, perform routine sample testing in support of vaccine development, including bioprocess and formulation development, release, stability, characterization, and adjuvant compatibility studies.
  • Perform necessary calculations independently and discuss conclusions with the manager.
  • Document experiments and analyze data from sample testing and method development/qualification experiments using an electronic laboratory notebook with guidance.
  • Contribute to the authoring of technical documents including development reports, analytical test methods, and method qualification reports.
  • Read scientific and technical literature to remain current in the field.
  • Provide daily laboratory operations support.
  • Set up and monitor experiments throughout the day and assist team members with their experiments.
  • Participate in data analysis, meetings, and discussions to communicate results.
  • Support a large sample testing workload in a fully lab-based environment.

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of antibody-antigen interactions and bioassay analytical techniques.
  • Experience or familiarity with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) and other plate-based testing methods.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with personal computers including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and relevant scientific software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based laboratory environment.
  • Preferred: Experience with plate-based immune methods, laboratory automation (e.g., Hamilton STAR), and electronic laboratory notebooks.

Education/Experience:

  • BS or BA degree in Biology or a related discipline with 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week, 8-hour days, fully on-site in a laboratory setting.
